Health

The Out Patients department for minor injuries closes at 9pm daily and it is not an easy walking distance from the town centre, take a taxi or a bus from Pencester Road/Priory Street (Stagecoach East Kent Service 67). All major accidents and emergencies are taken to The William Harvey Hospital at Ashford or QEQM at Margate.

Information on late night town-centre pharmacies etc. is published in the Dover Express/Dover Mercury local newspapers and varies from week to week. The Tesco store at Whitfield has a pharmacy that is open until 10pm weekdays. During daytimes Mon-Sat ,within the town centre, pharmacies are available in Pencester Rd, Biggin St and High St.

This telephone number actually rings in Maidstone at Kent Police Headquarters, along with all the other 'local' police station telephone numbers. The Police Station is open daytime only for personal callers. In an emergency, always call '999'!!!

The Port of Dover Police (also called Dover Harbour Board Police) are an independent force covering the port and harbour areas. General Harbour Board matters should be dealt with by calling (01304) 240400.

DDC's main offices are outside the town centre so they have a walk-in office not far from the pedestrian area in the middle of town. It's address is: Dover District Council, Castle St.. They are open Monday-Friday 0900-1230 & 1330-1630. All telephone queries are dealt with at the main offices.
